flashback: rosegarden

I’m not great at taking pictures of myself. I’m also not great at letting other people take pictures of me. Oh, and I’m not really surrounded by people who takes pictures of others as a way to capture moments. Occasionally Andrew will pick up our camera. This summer day at the rose garden was one of those days.

To Emma in 2033: This is how you looked like. At 33, you wore baggy linen pants, a romantic blouse of some sort, and white platform crocs (don’t ask why). You walked around the rose garden at Queen Elizbeth Park taking photos of books among roses. Andrew was there. People asked strangers to capture photos of themselves with their dogs in front of impressive rose bushes. You read Anchored: How to Befriend your Nervous System using Polyvagal Theory by Deb Dana. Even though you never would remember all the terms used, that book changed your life.
